Major refurbishment of the operating theatre at Voznesensk Hospital: additional work estimated at ₴7.5 million

Renovation work in the operating theatre of the surgical department at Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital is currently in the preparatory stage. Procurement for the renovation work is still being finalised. The cost of the work is provisionally estimated at 7.5 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital in response to a request from NikVesti.
The response, dated 30 March, states that the renovation is in the preparatory stage. Plans include the installation of ventilation and additional medical equipment. The estimated duration of the works is two months. General construction, electrical, and plumbing works, as well as the installation of heating, drainage, water supply, and fire protection systems, have already been completed.
The hospital noted that the work was funded from the state and local budgets. Procurement for the adjustment of the work is planned to be carried out from the same budgets.
«The total cost of the work carried out was 19,017,533 hryvnias, and the planned cost of the additional work, according to the design and cost estimate documentation, is 7,556,015 hryvnias» the hospital stated in its response.
The funds are expected to be received within three months.
The last procurement for the renovation of the surgical department’s operating theatre was announced back in 2023. The work was carried out by Persha Ukrainska Budivelna LLC from 15 September 2023 to 31 December 2024. A total of 19,017,533 hryvnias was spent on the work.
As a reminder, the surgical ward at the hospital in Voznesensk will be temporarily closed for renovation. The ward is expected to be out of service for 2–3 weeks. Patients will be referred to Pivdennoukrainsk.
At its meeting on 25 March, the Voznesensk City Council allocated 650,000 hryvnias for the renovation of the operating theatre: 250,000 hryvnias from the city budget, with 400,000 hryvnias to be provided by the Veselynivka Settlement Council.
It was also reported that on 12 March, a woman and her daughter went to the A&E department of the Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital with suspected appendicitis. On 14 March, the girl underwent surgery, but her condition deteriorated following the procedure.
On 17 March, the girl was transferred in a critical condition to the Mykolaiv Regional Children’s Hospital, where she was diagnosed with sepsis. She underwent a second operation, but on 28 March, the girl died. Investigators have launched a pre-trial investigation.
