Yachtsmen from Mykolaiv are asking for arrangements to be made to allow vessels to pass under the Varvarivskyi Bridge

The issue of deep-draught vessels passing through the pontoons near the Varvarivskyi Bridge was discussed during a staff meeting chaired by the Mayor of Mykolaiv.
The issue was raised by Valerii Vetrov, a representative of the Expert and Public Council attached to the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council, during the mayor’s staff meeting on 15 June, according to NikVesti.
According to Valerii Vetrov, more vessels are taking to the water this season than last year, which is why it has become necessary to organise passage there for vessels with a deep draught.
«More vessels are taking to the water this season. And today we are asking for your support for our letter regarding the passage of vessels with deep draughts via the pontoons near the Varvarivskyi Bridge,» said Valerii Vetrov.
As Vetrov explained, such vessels are engaged in navigation and are keen to use the route via the Southern Bug. That is precisely why they are asking for such a passage to be organised.
«We have deep-draught vessels, and they take part in regattas; for them, the South Bug side is of greater interest. We are therefore asking for this passage to be organised once a season; they will be there,» said Valerii Vetrov.
It was previously reported that the Expert and Public Council of the Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council had approached the mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych, with a proposal to introduce a more transparent procedure for appointing the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport and the directors of children’s and youth sports schools.
