The Russian military took advantage of a temporary pause in hostilities in the Kherson region, which was introduced to allow a humanitarian mission to take place in the occupied town of Oleshky, to strengthen their positions.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, during the ceasefire the Russians rotated their units, fortified their positions, installed additional anti-drone measures on the roads and strengthened their logistics, in particular by delivering ammunition.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military adhered to the ceasefire and acted within the terms of the agreements reached.
It should be recalled that Ukraine and Russia announced an agreement on a temporary ceasefire in the area around the occupied town of Oleshky on 23 October. The ceasefire was in force from 27 October to 1 November in the designated area. The Russian side also declared a ceasefire in this sector. On the first day of the truce, it was reported that there had been no breaches of the ceasefire. However, the agreement did not extend to other sections of the front line, where fighting continued.
The ceasefire ended on 1 November. According to the Ukrainian Ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, the parties adhered to their commitments throughout this period.
