In the reserve «Askania-Nova» the collection of Kaffir buffalo was almost lost due to the negligence of the occupation authorities.

Viktor Shapoval, the director of the biosphere reserve «Askania-Nova», told about this, «Up» reports.

According to him, almost the entire collection of Kaffir buffalo died due to hypothermia. The heat-loving species was kept in the open until the cold. This is the result of inactivity of the occupation administration of the reserve. A significant number of saigas also died.

«The logic of the occupation administration's actions is very simple: to bring to the surface what appears in a more or less normal light and to keep silent about any problems. It is necessary to realistically assess the situation, talk about the fact that not everything is so simple in «Ascania-Nova» and recognize the fact that the reserve still exists thanks to the resources that were created before the full-scale invasion,» said Viktor Shapoval.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian occupying forces steal animals from the Kherson reserve «Askania-Nova» and transport them to the Krasnodar «Safari Park».
