Participants of a luxurious party in Lviv, organized allegedly in support of the army, collected money for only 7 FPV drones. At the same time, they spent at least three times more on it.
The result of the charity event is at the level of school fairs and village meetings, Lviv.media writes.
The party on March 29 was organized by the glossy magazine «Piedmont» in the five-star recreation complex Edem Resort Medical & SPA. The guests of the charity evening donated 115,000 hryvnias for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles for the 80th Galician Airborne Assault Brigade. With this money, they bought 7 FlyFish 7 FPV drones. One of the owners of the magazine, Marta Kavetska, confirmed this information to Lviv.media.
Journalists assessed the scope of the event and compared the estimated costs of its organization with the result of the collection.
Guests were entertained by Andrii Kishe, Natalka Karpa and the band Rendeva, and the evening was hosted by showman Volodymyr Takudis. The event was held in a black-tie format, with men wearing tuxedos or suits, while women usually wear long evening dresses.
The amount of funds collected seems disproportionate to the scale of the event, the publication notes: about 150 businessmen, bloggers and well-known Lviv residents gathered in one of the most expensive holiday complexes in western Ukraine.
Among the guests were well-known entrepreneurs in Lviv: the owner of a network of kindergartens, Yuliia Hetman, the owner of a network of dental clinics, Yaroslav Zablotskyi, the Lviv designer Inna Leon, Olha Filatova-Kryvetska, the wife of the entrepreneur and former People's Deputy, owner of Edem Resort Ihor Kryvetskyi. On average, each participant of the party donated about 600 hryvnias. For example, the value of the original women's bags that lit up at the evening is from 1 to 5 thousand dollars.
Marta Kavetska told Lviv.media about the result of the collection.
«100,000 was collected in the bank, 5,200 was put in a box in cash, 10,500 was added by Olena Zhivko, the head of the volunteer association, for whose bank the collection was opened. It's all in hryvnias. A total of 115,500 came out. Seven drones,» she said.
She also said that the guests of the event donated money at their discretion, and there was no set amount.
«It was solely to inform the guests of their capabilities. Here we are making an event from our magazine. And we add some kind of charitable component to each one... We don't have such a thing that we set ourselves some goal or goal, it's all individual. Everyone who can donate as much as they can,» said the co-owner of the magazine.
Marta Kavetska refused to answer the question about how much money was spent on organizing the evening. To the question whether the magazine paid for the rent of the hall and buffet, Marta Kavetska answered: «What do you think? That we are given everything for free? The equipment, it was all paid for.» The organizer also refused to tell about the singers' fees, calling this information a commercial secret.
Journalists called Edem Resort & Spa, introducing themselves as the organizers of the charity auction, and asked how much their services cost. They were told that the rent of the hall, in which the entertainment was held on March 29, costs 7 thousand US dollars. However, if the event is charitable, then its organizers can be given a discount. You can buy 17 FlyFish 7 drones for $7,000. Also, Edem Resort & Spa said that they do not provide their own sound and light for organizing a concert, you have to bring it and set it up with you. In one of the Lviv sound studios, the prices for such a service were estimated: at least 200 thousand hryvnias (the price of 12 FlyFish 7 drones).
If we estimate the fee for the performers and presenter at 200,000 hryvnias for everyone, and the cost of the buffet at 250,000, it can be assumed that the amount spent on entertainment for the elite was enough to buy at least 60 FPV drones for the soldiers of the 80th ODSHBr.
Donations collected in the evening can be compared with much less pompous events. For example, residents of the village of Tsybli in the Kyiv region collected 103,000 hryvnias by organizing a concert of folk art and selling pies in their cultural center. Zhytomyr lyceum students collected 102 thousand hryvnias at the school fair. And Lviv schoolchildren and students organized a nativity scene and collected 105,000 hryvnias for drones.
We will remind that on February 1 of this year, the police in Kyiv detained two organizers of drunken parties where they could rape and humiliate girls. The boys were also searched. At that time, it was reported that they faced up to 7 years in prison.
The bloggers, who are suspected of abusing the girls, were taken into custody without bail until April 1. Later, the law enforcement officers announced the suspicion of the third organizer of drunken parties in Kyiv.
On March 29, two persons involved in the case — Yaroslav Dombrovskyi and Oleh Zakharov — were released from custody after posting bail in the amount of over 400,000 hryvnias. The other person involved, Andrii Yaryna, remained in custody without the right to bail. He was suspected of both sexual violence and distribution of pornographic content. Later, one of the participants got married. Showman Yurii Tkach was the presenter at the wedding.
Mykolaiv participant of «Diesel Show» Yehor Krutoholov stood up for fellow presenter Yurii Tkach, who conducted the wedding of the person involved in the case of parties where girls were abused.
