General Staff: Russia lost more than 585,000 soldiers in the war with Ukraine

Over the past day, August 5, the Russian army lost another 1,050 people in Ukraine. In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, since February 24, 2022, the invaders have lost approximately 586,190 of their troops.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are losing their military equipment and weapons. In particular:

  • tanks — 8,411 (+4 over the past day);
  • armored fighting vehicles — 16,294 (+8);
  • artillery systems — 16,384 (+39);
  • rocket salvo fire systems — 1,138;
  • air defense means — 910;
  • airplanes — 365;
  • helicopters — 326;
  • UAVs of the operational-tactical level — 13,158 (+36);
  • cruise missiles — 2,420 (+6);
  • ships/boats — 28;
  • submarines — 1;
  • automotive equipment and tankers — 22,148 (+54);
  • special equipment — 2,738 (+1).

It is noted that these data are not final and are still being refined. The General Staff explained that the number of dead occupiers together with the wounded is indicated in the casualty summaries.

We will remind, on the night of August 6, air defense forces shot down 4 missiles and 15 attack UAVs over Ukraine.
