regional art museum in Mykolaiv

The Mykolaiv Vereshchahin Art Museum, officially the Mykolaiv Regional Art Museum named after Vasyl Vereshchahin, is the main art museum of Mykolaiv, with permanent and temporary exhibitions. During the war part of its collection was evacuated, while other exhibits were packed and hidden.

In December 2025 the museum received Olha Artym’s triptych “Cossack Atlantis” about the Kakhovka Dam disaster, and in April 2026 it opened an exhibition in memory of sculptor Inna Makushyna. In September 2026 it planned to repair the ceiling of one of its halls for nearly UAH 670,000. In October 2026 a painting that had hung in the fire brigade’s exhibition for over a quarter of a century was returned to the museum.

MykVisti covers the museum’s exhibitions, new acquisitions, repairs and its work during the war.
