Ukrainian state-owned defence conglomerate

Ukroboronprom, now the joint-stock company Ukrainian Defense Industry, is the state defence conglomerate whose enterprises produce and repair weapons, equipment and ammunition. In the Defense News ranking it took 49th place among the world's largest defence companies in 2024 and 2025. In August 2025 Herman Smetanin was chosen as its director general for the second time, and in July 2026 he resigned amid the scandal over explosions at an ammunition depot in Vyshneve. In March 2026 a deputy director general was named a suspect in a case over the theft of UAH 32 million.

MykVisti follows the conglomerate's Mykolaiv affairs: the choice of a director for the Zoria-Mashproekt state enterprise and the fate of the damaged Admiralty building of the shipbuilding plant. We also write about drone production and the conglomerate's revenue.
