Ukraine and the United States begin talks in Saudi Arabia to resolve the war

Negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and the United States to resolve the war with Russia have begun in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The ministry's Telegram channel posted a video showing the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, his deputy Pavlo Palisa, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, and Defence Minister Rustem Umerov entering the meeting room.

«The meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations begins in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia», the statement reads.

Later, Andrii Yermak posted a photo from the meeting room on his Telegram account, showing US National Security Advisor Mike Volz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Later, the head of the OP said that the talks had started constructively.

«We are working to bring a just and lasting peace closer», said Andrii Yermak.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that any agreement to end the war would require Ukraine to make territorial concessions. During his flight to Jeddah, where he is scheduled to hold talks with Ukrainian officials, Rubio stressed that both sides must be prepared to make difficult decisions to resolve the conflict.

It is worth noting that during the talks in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine will try to convince the US to resume intelligence and military support, as well as prove that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is committed to ending the war with Russia as soon as possible.

Earlier, Donald Trump said that the meeting was planned not only with the Ukrainian delegation, but also with the Russian one. At the same time, Russia said that talks with the United States were not planned.
