Trump says many elements of Ukraine peace deal already agreed with Putin

President of the United States of America Donald Trump said that many elements of the peace agreement on Russia's war against Ukraine were agreed with Vladimir Putin.

He wrote about this on his social media platform Truth Social.

According to Donald Trump, his phone call with Vladimir Putin will take place on the morning of 18 March, North American Eastern Time. He noted that some of the agreements have already been reached, but many issues remain open.

He also stated that 2,500 soldiers are killed every week in the war on both sides, but did not provide any sources for this information. He stressed that «is looking forward to speaking with President Putin on the phone».

As a reminder, Reuters noted that Donald Trump is trying to get Vladimir Putin to agree to a 30-day ceasefire proposal that Ukraine agreed to last week. At the same time, both sides continue massive air strikes, and the Russian army has come close to pushing Ukrainian troops out of their months-long foothold in the western part of Russia's Kursk region.

Earlier, Donald Trump posted that he had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The White House clarified that it was Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Vitkoff who spoke to him, not the American leader.

Donald Trump also said that his US special envoy Steve Witkoff did not wait for hours to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow. He called the reports about this «fake news».
