The house at 32 Admiralska Street in Mykolaiv, damaged by a rocket attack, can be restored without dismantling.
This was the result of an independent examination commissioned by the residents of the building, which they told about in the NikVesti article «The problem of reconstruction: how Mykolaiv residents live, whose homes were destroyed by Russia.»
Until recently, the authorities planned to demolish a building in the center of Mykolaiv. The locals were categorically against dismantling, because they were sure that the technical report would show a positive result in their favor. That is why they asked the DHCS to install a temporary roof over the house during the cold season, in order to prevent the complete destruction of the building. Later, the department explained that it was impossible due to the lack of expertise.
So far, the expert report has shown that the degree of damage is between 41% and 80%, which suggests that the building can be restored. Now the object should be conserved, having previously installed a temporary roof over the destroyed second and third entrances.
The resident of the house Viktor Zahorui assumes that it will take up to 2 years to rebuild the house.
«The house can be restored. At the moment, the DHCS has sewn up the windows almost everywhere, roughly speaking, all the holes. It must now be conserved, for this a temporary roof must be installed over the second and third blocks, the first one having survived. We have already agreed that the contractor should come next week to install the roof. Then there is the procedure of finding a designer, it will depend on finances, a contract with a designer for restoration, and only after receiving the project and estimate, the executive committee must approve it and make a decision on financing. The first entrance, which was destroyed, will be rebuilt from scratch. It will take up to two years. I communicated with the DHCS, we agreed with them on everything, the process from them is actively ongoing, we are working in close contact,» said Viktor Zahorui, a resident of the house.
The housing and communal services department explains that for the reconstruction funds will be attracted from cooperation with international donors, as well as from the state and local budgets.
Previously, NikVesti wrote that in October, some of the residents of the building continued to receive utility bills. After that, utility service providers were asked to stop charging people debt.
As you know, on the night of July 20, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Mykolaiv. As a result of the impact, a three-story residential building was destroyed. During the attack, an elderly couple died in the house. First, a man's body was taken out from under the rubble. A little later, the woman's body was pulled out.
