Kiseliova was outraged that the police ignored the decision to ban the movement of motorcycles without mufflers in Mykolaiv

The leader of the «European Solidarity» faction in the Mykolaiv City Council, Olena Kiseliova, expressed her indignation at the fact that the patrol police ignore the city council's decision to prohibit the movement of motor vehicles without a muffler during the war.

This was discussed on Wednesday, October 18, during a meeting of the Mykolaiv City Council Commission on Publicity, «NikVesti» writes.

During the discussion of changes to the program «Promoting the activities of law enforcement agencies in the territory of the city of Mykolaiv for 2020-2023», deputy Olena Kiseliova drew attention to the fact that after the adoption at the city council session of the decision to ban the use of vehicles without a mufflers during the period of martial law, executive structures and law enforcement agencies not only did not start taking measures for its implementation, but did not even receive an official notification about this decision.

— What kind of interaction do we have with law enforcement agencies in terms of implementing the council's decision to restrict the movement of cars and motorcycles that violate the silence regime and drive without a muffler? I was strongly convinced that everything would change with the adoption of the council's decision. It is a strange situation, but after the decision of the council, the structural divisions and bodies that were supposed to implement it, this decision did not even reach them officially. When the law enforcement agencies know where to turn regarding the allocation of funding, but when it is necessary to implement the decision of the city council, unfortunately, it is only recorded on paper, — she said.

The head of the department for defense and mobilization work and cooperation with law enforcement agencies of the Mykolaiv City Council, Ihor Onishchenko, pointed out the negative impact of loud motorcycles on the peace and comfort of residents of the Solyani microdistrict.

— We also wrote a letter to the police that there are noisy motorcycles driving near the METRO store in the Solyani microdistrict, — he said.

— It's great that there were appeals, but the problem still remains unsolved, — answered Olena Kiseliova.

We will remind you that at the beginning of September, the Mykolaiv City Council decided to introduce additional restrictions during martial law. In particular, it was forbidden to set off fireworks and drive vehicles that create an excessive level of noise.

Commenting on the initiative, the head of the Patrol Police Department in the Mykolaiv region, Vitalii Danila, explained that law enforcement officers have no legal grounds to prohibit people from driving vehicles without mufflers or with modified silencers.

However, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych believes that the patrol police can influence cases of vehicles without a silencer being used in the city during martial law, if they had the will to do so.

At the same time, People's Deputy of Ukraine from the «Servant of the People» party, Ihor Nehulevskyy, said that in Kyiv, law enforcement agencies managed to work out cases of the use of vehicles without a mufflers during martial law in one week.
