There is not a sufficient number of children: 16 kindergartens do not work in the communities of Mykolaiv Oblast due to the war

In 2022, as a result of military events and the lack of a sufficient number of children, 16 kindergartens in the Mykolaiv region stopped their work.

In Mykolaiv Oblast, until today, kindergartens do not work in 14 territorial communities, in particular in Nechayane, Stepove, Kostiantynivka, Ochakiv, Kutsurub, Chornomorka, Bashtanka, Kazanka, Novobuzke, Sofiivka, Snihurivka, Horokhivske, Prybuzke, and Vesniane.

11 preschool education institutions have been opened in Mykolaiv since July of this year.

As of September 30, 2023, there are 274 kindergartens in Mykolaiv region, which is 53.7% of their total number.

In addition, one preschool education institution is located on the temporarily occupied territory of the Ochakiv Territorial Community. Information about its current condition is not available due to lack of contact with local residents.

It was previously reported that 54 shelters are planned to be installed in kindergartens, schools and lyceums in Mykolaiv over the next few years.

We remind you that the outflow of students was recorded in the schools of Mykolaiv this year. Compared to the last academic year , the number of schoolchildren decreased by 3,300. Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolaiv RMA, explained that the city's schools work online because they are still targets for the Russian army.

It was previously mentioned that the restoration of kindergartens and schools of the Pervomaisk community of the Mykolaiv region damaged by Russian shelling will begin in 2024.
