Since the beginning of the «eVidnovlennia» program, residents of the Mykolaiv region have received a total of over 1.3 billion hryvnias in compensation for damaged and destroyed housing.

Yevhen Skarlat, deputy head of the capital construction department of Mykolaiv RMA, told about this at a briefing on September 3.

Of these, 4,077 owners received 371.7 million payments for the restoration of damaged housing.

«And 4,077 homeowners have already been paid the first payment of compensation in the total amount of more than 362.085 million hryvnias, and 85 owners have received the second payment in the amount of more than 9.692 million hryvnias,» Yevhen Skarlat said.

In total, residents of the Mykolaiv region wrote 7,597 applications for compensation for damaged property. Of these, 61% (4,647 requests) have been processed so far.

The number of applications for compensation for completely destroyed housing was written by 1,372 residents of the Mykolaiv region. 774 owners received payments in the total amount of 995 million hryvnias.

Additionally, 13 citizens received monetary compensation for the construction of housing instead of the destroyed one in the amount of over 13.9 million hryvnias.

«Currently, two ways of compensation are provided, this is compensation for carrying out construction works and restoration on one's own share, or another option — obtaining a certificate for the purchase of a new home. Construction is a difficult path, so more often citizens choose to buy new property from us,» Yevhen Skarlat said.

To the journalist's question about whether local self-government bodies monitor statistics on the use of certificates, he noted that there is currently no such possibility, but a mechanism that will allow monitoring these processes is being developed.

«We do not have the ability to track all this data, it is generated automatically by the register. There are already forms prepared for reporting on where housing was chosen, which housing, who has already purchased and who has not, but unfortunately, this functionality has not yet been launched, and we cannot monitor it,» said Yevhen Skarlat.

We would like to remind you that from May 10, 2023, the program of compensation for damaged housing «eVidnovlennia» will be in effect in Ukraine.

In June 2023, Mykolaiv Oblast entered the top five oblasts, where the largest number of applications for the «eVidnovlennia» program were submitted. However, the region has the lowest rates of consideration of these applications. Therefore, the Ministry of Reconstruction called on the Mykolaiv commissions to speed up their processing: «This depends on the ability of the owners to receive help in the shortest possible time to restore housing before the autumn and winter cold.»

However, already according to the general results of 2023, the Mykolaiv region entered the top five regions, which are the leaders in terms of the amount of compensation received for damaged property within the framework of the «eVidnovlennia» program.
