The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) allowed the CRH company to purchase the shares of Dickerhoff Cement Ukraine PJSC. We are talking about two cement factories, one of which is in the Mykolayiv region.

This is reported on the AMСU website.

It is noted that it will provide her with an excess of 50% of the votes in the highest management body of the asset being purchased.

AMCU also gave permission to implement measures to reduce competition in the cement production market. They must be fulfilled within 24 months after the conclusion of the agreement.

We remind you that the condition of concentration is the transfer of 25-28% of the shares of PrJSC with the right of veto to an independent investor within nine months from the moment of the purchase.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is expected to become such an investor, since in December 2023 CRH signed a mandate letter with it on the joint acquisition of the assets of the Italian company Buzzi in Ukraine.

In addition, CRH will be required to regularly report to AMCU for five years, in particular, on production volumes and sales prices on the domestic market.

Earlier it was reported that the Irish company CRH can actually increase its share in the cement market in Ukraine to 50% after closing the deal on the purchase of the assets of Dickerhoff Cement Ukraine, including the plant near Mykolaiv.

We will remind that the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, Yugcement and the gas transportation system operator Mykolaivgaz became the biggest air polluters in 2021.
