They want to allocate 5 million hryvnias from the Odesa budget for work on the strengthening of the Blazhko Descent street (the former Marynesko Descent street, — note). These works are planned to be completed by the beginning of 2025.

This was announced by First Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov during a session of the Odesa City Council on September 18, write NikVesti.

Two drainage systems for water removal will be installed at the port, he said. Currently, project works have already been completed.

«Now the examination is finalizing the research. We hope that by the end of this month there will be an examination of this project,» Oleksandr Filatov added.

After that, according to him, a tender should be held, and a contract with a contractor should be concluded by the end of October.

«Designers tell us that this work ideally takes seven months, at least four. We will ask the contractor to do this work even faster, somewhere in 2.5-3 months,» added the deputy mayor.

The subsidence of the soil on the street was recorded for the first time in February 2023. Then the pedestrian path began to collapse, the tramway and the road were deformed, cracks appeared on buildings №16 and №18. After that, the Odesa City Council allocated more than a million hryvnias to carry out an examination of the Marynesko Descent.

A few years ago, 73 million hryvnias were spent on the reconstruction of this road. The works were carried out by the Rostdorstroy company close to the mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

Immediately after the completion of the works, questions arose regarding the quality of their execution. In 2021, the road began to collapse due to improperly laid storm sewers, Dumska writes.

We will remind you that the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council plans to order a project for the restoration of the historic gate in the center of Mykolaiv by the end of the year.
