Gepard, drones, ammunition: Germany updates military aid package for Ukraine

On Monday, 17 March, Germany announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It includes Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems, ammunition and drones.
The updated list of aid is available on the German Government's website.
The new aid package includes: 24 MRAP vehicles for mine and ambush protection, ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks and MARDER infantry fighting vehicles, three Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and ten thousand rounds of ammunition.
In addition, Germany will provide missiles for the IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft missile system and five thousand rounds of 155 mm ammunition, two thousand rounds of 122 mm ammunition and eight thousand rounds of ammunition for 120 mm mortars.
Also, 50 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts, 30 Gereon RCS tracked drones and 30 drone detection systems. The aid package includes two armoured vehicles for mine clearance and 100 portable demining systems, as well as two mine trawls.
In addition, Ukraine will receive laser rangefinders, infrared binoculars, assault rifles and medical kits.
In February, Germany handed over a new military aid package to Ukraine. It includes ammunition for tanks, IRIS-T and Gepard air defence systems, artillery shells, various types of drones and demining vehicles.
