Two trees were cut down on the Mykolaiv embankment and a sports field is being built: ecologists reported a crime and contacted the police

In Mykolaiv, two trees were demolished on Fleet boulevard and a sports ground is being built. The environmental inspection reported a violation.

This was reported in the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

Ecoinspection experts inspected the construction site. The employees of the CP «Mykolaiv Parks» reported that the construction of a sports ground is being carried out by a subcontractor there.

However, the utility company did not provide a properly approved and agreed construction project, but only cartographic materials.

The inspectors also discovered the illegal destruction of 2 trees, removal of the top layer of soil, destruction of the lawn, which is a violation of Articles 7 and 38 of the Law «On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine».

State inspectors called the police and filed a crime report.

It is worth noting that in the public procurement system ProZorro CP «Mykolaiv Parks» did not order the project for the reconstruction of Fleet Boulevard, or the construction of a sports ground on this site.

However, in October, the utility company ordered 64 tons of sand and 123 tons of granite rubble from «TRANSPORT VUHILLYA» LLC. Construction materials cost 157,250 hryvnias.

We would like to remind you that from January to September 2023, the communal plant «Mykolaiv Parks» spent 14.9 million hryvnias on the maintenance of public facilities.

It was previously reported that the Mykolaiv Parks utility company intends to purchase 511 tree saplings and 16,420 bushes for 7,726,475 hryvnias. After that, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, asked the townspeople whether it is worth buying seedlings.

Later, at the budget commission, Oleksandr Sienkevych proposed that 7 million hryvnias be used for the purchase of pickup trucks for the military, with which they plan to plant new trees and bushes in the city.
