Polish farmers blocked the sixth checkpoint: 3,000 trucks lined up

As of the morning of Saturday, February 17, Polish protesters blocked six checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.

This was announced by the spokesman of the State Border Service Andrii Demchenko on the telethon «Edyni Novyny».

«As of Saturday morning, the blocking of the Ukrainian-Polish border continues in six directions. Yesterday, Polish protesters also began to block the Krakow checkpoint. There are 3,300 trucks waiting in line to enter Ukraine,» Andrii Demchenko said.

According to him, the biggest queue at the «Krakivets» checkpoint is 1,600 trucks and 550 cars at the «Yahodyn» checkpoint.

He noted that 45 trucks crossed the «Shehyni» checkpoint on Friday, of which 25 were headed for Ukraine, that is, in fact, 1 truck crosses the border per hour. About 140 cargo vehicles crossed the border at the «Yahodyn» checkpoint during the day, 108 of which went to Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the excessive import of agricultural products from Ukraine could provoke a new crisis in the countries of the European Union.

On February 7, Polish farmers announced strikes at at least one checkpoint on the border with Ukraine. We are talking about the checkpoint «Dorohusk — Yahodyn». They promised the passage of all buses and 1 cargo vehicle in both directions within an hour.

On February 9, Polish carriers blocked the road in the direction at the checkpoints «Medyka — Shehyni», «Hrebenne — Rava-Ruska» and «Dorohusk — Yahodyn».

On February 11, in front of the «Yahodyn — Dorohusk» checkpoint, Polish farmers dumped part of the grain from three Ukrainian trucks.

Ukrainian transporters also started a protest near the international checkpoint «Yahodyn — Dorohusk». They stated that this was a response to the blockade of the checkpoint by Polish transporters and farmers.
