In Mykolaiv, rescuers have removed the body of a dead woman from the rubble. Two people have been reported dead and five injured.

According to the State Emergency Service, the rubble is still being cleared. Special equipment is working at the site. An aid centre has been set up for people.

According to the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Sienkevych, it was one of the largest attacks on the city in recent times.

«Our utilities have been dealing with the aftermath of the attack in different parts of the city throughout the day. The area has been cleaned up and windows in damaged buildings, including residential ones, have been partially covered with OSB boards. Residents who needed to be temporarily relocated are being accommodated in the city hostel», the mayor added.

The attack on Mykolaiv on 25 May

As you know, on Saturday night, 25 May, the Russian army launched dozens of drones at Mykolaiv. The first shelling in the city was heard around 00:50. The city authorities reported that the city was under attack by kamikaze drones.

A five-storey building in Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv was hit. People were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers managed to unblock the body of one of the residents at 6am. The victim was a 77-year-old man. In addition, 5 other people were injured, including a teenager. Mykolaiv rescuers managed to pull a girl out of the rubble.

Authorities also reported that the night attack on Mykolaiv damaged infrastructure, office buildings and private homes. Power lines were damaged in different parts of the city. Two floors of an apartment building were destroyed, and the debris hit a nearby multi-storey building.

In addition, one of the kindergartens was damaged by a Russian drone strike. The building's windows were smashed and the roof was damaged.

Law enforcers have already opened a criminal investigation into the nighttime shelling of Mykolaiv on the grounds of war crimes (Article 438(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, noted that the 25 May attack on Mykolaiv was the most massive in recent years.
