Fatal traffic accident: Mayor of Voznesensk got into car crash, his condition is unknown

A tragic accident involving the mayor of Voznesensk, Yevhenii Velychko, occurred in the Kirovohrad region. The accident happened on 28 January during his business trip to the Holovanivskyi district.

The relevant information was published on the official websites of the mayor's office and the State Emergency Service.

According to preliminary data, the accident occurred due to adverse weather conditions. Currently, all circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the competent authorities. No official information has been released yet on the condition of Yevhenii Velychko himself. According to NikVesti, the mayor is in a hospital in the Kirovohrad region.

At the same time, the State Emergency Service reported details of the accident. According to their data, on 28 January at 15:47, the Rescue Service received a report of a traffic accident involving two passenger cars on a motorway near the village of Pushkove in the Pobuzke community of the Holovanivskyi district.

At the scene, rescuers used power tools to free an injured woman born in 1977 from the damaged car and handed her over to a team of medics. Another participant in the accident, a man born in 1986, died at the scene. His body also had to be removed from the wrecked car. Experts are currently establishing all the circumstances and causes of the tragedy.

Earlier it was reported that in the Mykolaiv region, on the Blahovishchenske-Mykolaiv motorway, a Mitsubishi L200 crashed into a tree. The driver was hospitalised.
