According to the police, in 2022, the official signed a contract with an entrepreneur to purchase generators for emergency shelters and heating at inflated prices. The payment of 732,000 hryvnias was made on the basis of payment orders signed by him.
Investigators established that the contract was concluded without an electronic procurement system and then published in the system retroactively.
In January 2026, the prosecutor's office notified the official of his suspicion under the article on embezzlement of another's property on a large scale through abuse of office, committed during martial law.
The indictment has now been sent to court. The official faces up to eight years in prison and up to three years of prohibition from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities.
As a reminder, the contractor and his accomplice were notified of suspicion of embezzling approximately 425,000 hryvnias of budget funds during the renovation of a hospital in Ochakiv.
