Three residents of the Mykolaiv region are suspected of selling trophy weapons among acquaintances in the territory of the Snihurivka community.
Three men found an arsenal of weapons, cartridges, shells and explosives at abandoned military positions and places of combat, the police of the Mykolaiv region reported.
According to the investigation, a 22-year-old resident of the Snihurivka community developed a scheme in which he involved two more of his 18-19-year-old friends, and distributed the functions of each of them.
It is noted that they came to abandoned military positions and places of hostilities, where military supplies and damaged military equipment or firearms were located.
As reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, during the searches of the houses and cars of the men, four flares, more than 300 rounds of various calibers, five incendiary capsules for artillery shells, an F-1 grenade case and a UZRGM-type detonator, six thousand dollars, eight thousand hryvnias, a marching engine for PG-7 and mobile phones.
Also, 22 shells of various calibers, three pieces of 100 mm caliber shots, a powder charge for a 120 mm caliber shell, 12 3B3 and RGM-2M type detonators, 10 units of VOG-25 grenade launcher shots of 40 mm caliber were seized from the cache.
All three were detained by law enforcement officers and reported as suspicious. They face up to seven years in prison.
Currently, the men are in custody with the possibility of making bail — 244 thousand hryvnias for each.
We will remind you that the Central District Court of Mykolaiv held a hearing in the case of a 37-year-old local woman accused of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. The woman bought a Kalashnikov AKS-74U assault rifle and 270 cartridges of 5.45 mm caliber from a person not identified by the investigation.
