Two men were detained in Poltava Oblast and Kropyvnytskyi who tried to covertly send Ukrainian samples of components for combat aircraft abroad. They were informed about the suspicion.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported that the equipment included in the sighting system of fighter jets was among the confiscated items.
It is noted that a local resident was detained in Kropyvnytskyi, who was planning to establish an international channel for the illegal shipment of military goods abroad.
According to the investigation, for the «first time» the man tried to sell components for the optical-electronic guidance system of MiG-29 fighters to the EU country. In order to send the «parcel» abroad, he wanted to issue it by mail, specifying inaccurate data in the customs declaration. But he was detained while trying to send aircraft equipment.
According to law enforcement officers, the man's clients were «overbuyers» of technological equipment who wanted to resell it at a higher price.
Another «seller» was exposed in Poltava Oblast, who wanted to sell spare parts for aviation equipment abroad. First of all, we were talking about components for Mi-24 attack helicopters and Ka-27 ship rotorcraft.
As noted in the Security Service, in order to find customers, the man posted online advertisements on international trading platforms. Having found a foreign «customer», he prepared a postal shipment for him, which he issued as «civilian» equipment. But he was also detained while sending the «parcel».
During the search of his apartment, they found additional equipment that he was preparing to send abroad.
Law enforcement officers notified both men of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control).
They face prison terms. An investigation is ongoing to establish the sources of origin of the military equipment.
We will remind you that in the Mykolaiv Oblast, law enforcement officers detained a military man who wanted to sell three cars imported for the needs of Ukrainian military personnel.
