The Housing and Communal Services Department is one million short of the amount needed to get five broken lifts up and running in Mykolaiv

The Department of Housing and Communal Services in Mykolaiv is short of around one million hryvnias to repair five non-functioning lifts in the city. This came to light yesterday, 15 June, during a staff meeting chaired by the Mayor of Mykolaiv, according to NikVesti.

The Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, asked for a report on the current status of the repairs to 12 lifts in the city. It was reported that work has already been completed at seven sites, but five lifts remain out of service.

In response to the mayor’s question about the deadline for completing the repairs, Deputy Mayor Yurii Andriienko explained that information could be expected after July.

For his part, Dmytro Bezdolnyi, Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, clarified that the average cost of refurbishing one such lift is around 200,000 hryvnias.

«On average, it costs 200,000 hryvnias per lift. We need one million for these five lifts, but we don’t have the funds at the moment,» said Dmytro Bezdolnyi.

It was previously reported that Mykolaiv has less than 5 per cent of the mobile shelters it needs.
