The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» has announced a tender for the services of debt collection agencies to work with debtors. The estimated cost of the work is 1.24 million hryvnias. The aim is to recover over 6 million hryvnias in debts.
This is according to data in the Prozorro public procurement system, as reported by NikVesti.
The tender was announced on 22 June. Contractors have until 30 June to submit bids. The water utility’s budget is listed as the source of funding.
Debt collectors must provide documentary evidence of their experience.
The tender documentation also specifies the estimated amount of debt to be recovered by the debt collectors — 6.2 million hryvnias.
Debt collectors are to encourage debtors to settle their arrears. They are to remind them of this via letters and claims. The debt will be deemed reduced or settled if, during the term of the contract or within one month of its expiry, the debtors transfer the money to the water utility.
The water utility will provide the debt collectors with a register of debtors in several stages.
As a reminder, as of 1 May, consumers owed the municipal utility «Mykolaivvodokanal» almost 258 million hryvnias. The company attributed this, amongst other things, to the war, the absence of people who had left the area, and a lack of payments.
Furthermore, NikVesti reported that Vasyl Telpis, the former technical director of «Mykolaivvodokanal», stated that he had not planned to resign after nearly 40 years of service at the company. According to him, he submitted his resignation due to psychological pressure from the new management.
At the end of January 2026, a new chief executive of the Mykolaivvodokanal municipal enterprise was appointed in Mykolaiv. The post was taken up by Hennadii Iziumov — the former head and chief engineer of water supply construction projects at the «Mariupolvodokanal» municipal enterprise.
In April, employees of «Mykolaivvodokanal» drafted a petition addressed to the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, demanding the dismissal of the newly appointed director, Hennadii Iziumov.
