Kim did not award himself bonuses for four years because of a journalist's question

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, said that he has not received a bonus for the past four years because of a promise he made to a journalist.

He said this in an interview with TSN.

As a reminder, in 2020, Chairman Vitalii Kim said he was ready to give up bonuses and bonuses to his salary, as he was not interested in the issue of salary and bonuses, as he needed powers, not salary, first and foremost.

According to Vitalii Kim, his monthly salary is currently around 150,000 hryvnias, although a few years ago it was much lower.

«My salary is about 150 thousand now. It was about 70 thousand hryvnias, but the law was changed, and this is to my advantage. I set big bonuses and allowances for my deputies. When I was elected, one of the journalists asked me if I would give myself bonuses. I replied that I would never do that. And I did not receive them for all 4 years,» he said.

According to Vitalii Kim's estimates, he did not receive about 3-4 million hryvnias over 4 years due to the refusal to receive bonuses.

However, after the reform of the remuneration system and the limitation of bonuses for civil servants to 30%, his salary increased to ₴150,000 per month.

«I calculated that in four years I did not receive bonuses worth 3-4 million hryvnias. And that's what I think: «Why did I promise him not to give me bonuses?». But the reform raised my salary to ₴150,000 and limited bonuses for my deputies. And we are equal,» he said.

As a reminder, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, declared in 2024 that he owned six apartments and two cars, and together with his wife kept over $95,000 and 500,000 in cash.
