The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, is wary of the possible establishment of military rule in Ukraine.
In a recent interview with TSN.ua, answering a journalist's question about the military coming to power and their quantitative advantage, particularly in parliament, over politicians, Vitalii Kim gave a rather sharp response: «God forbid», write NikVesti.
According to Vitalii Kim, if the military, the so-called «junta», is established in Ukraine, there will be no talk of development.
«God forbid! I am against this. I have great respect for the military, we cooperate with them, we are friends with many of them. But everyone has to do their own thing. If we have a military command, a junta, we will have a military theme for the whole future, and there will be no development. I understand the hierarchy within the military. It is definitely not. And I'll give you an example, so that maybe it will help people. Everyone will drag the military into their own, heroic role to speak publicly. The political forces will all be measuring who loves the country more. Unfortunately, this will all happen, and it will all work for people. There are military men, professional managers who quit their jobs and went (to fight, — note), but they are few and far between, and we cannot take this as a basis,» said Vitalii Kim.
He commented on the idea that «the military will come and restore order».
«There was an idea to change our wounded, who had experience, to lighter positions, and to take the employees of the TRC (Territorial Recruitment Centres) to the front. This was done. So, in western Ukraine, a wounded guy who is really a hero, who won back the war, comes there as a TRC, and from where the guys were trained and sent to fight. And this guy, who has returned from the front, starts taking money to let other people go. He was told: «'You're a soldier! What are you doing? Your guys are there». He says: «I'm not ashamed, I fought, I fought back, they took it, now it's my turn. It's okay». This is an objective and ugly truth. He is a hero on the frontline, but it is a mistake to think that he will return to civilian life as a politician or manager and be the same hero,» said Vitalii Kim.
Before that, Vitalii Kim expressed the opinion that elections and a reset of power in Ukraine could be held this year, provided a ceasefire is in place and martial law is lifted.
