According to a French official with knowledge of the private discussions, France insists on the option of deploying peacekeepers of the «Coalition of the Willing» in central Ukraine, along the Dnipro River, away from the front line.

At the same time, the official added that other options for deploying support forces even further from the front are also being considered. In particular, they are talking about the far west of Ukraine or in a neighbouring country.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping force of more than 10,000 troops to Ukraine during an online meeting of the «Coalition of the Willing».

As a reminder, France will provide Ukraine with €2 billion worth of military assistance, including missiles, air defence systems and armoured vehicles.
