Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the conference. Photo: NikVestiUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Iran is not currently supplying Russia with missiles and certain other types of weapons that the Russian army could use to attack Ukraine.
He said this on 8 March during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in Kyiv, according to Suspilne.
«Russia is helping the Iranian regime. We understand what has already been provided, although we do not know the extent of what they are prepared to transfer. The good thing is that the Iranian regime is not supplying Russia with missiles and certain other types of weapons that are used to attack Ukraine,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he noted that Iran is not yet supplying Russia with missiles and some other weapons that could be used to strike Ukraine.
The President also noted that the international community's attention is shifting from Russia's war against Ukraine to events in the Middle East. In his opinion, this could affect the level of support for Ukraine.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had received requests for assistance in countering Iranian drone attacks in the Middle East. According to him, the first group of Ukrainian experts who will provide military advisory assistance to the Persian Gulf countries is expected to arrive in the region next week.
It should be noted that the first group of Ukrainian experts will arrive in the Middle East next week to help countries in the region counter drone attacks.
Recall that on the morning of 28 February, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran to eliminate security threats. Due to the threat of retaliatory strikes, a state of emergency has been declared throughout the country, and citizens are urged to stay close to shelters. In response, Iran began attacking American bases in the Persian Gulf countries and launched a ballistic missile strike on Israel.
