Germany will purchase eight Patriot systems

The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) will receive a total of eight new Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Germany, Boris Pistorius, writes «Yevropeiska Pravda».

Boris Pistorius said that the contract for the purchase of the first four systems has already been concluded. Another request for the purchase of four Patriots is under preparation.

Delivery of the first four systems should begin in 2026.

The new purchases are primarily intended to fill the gaps that arose due to the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine.

We will remind, in April, Germany announced the urgent transfer of one Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex to Ukraine.
