The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived in Switzerland for the Peace Summit.

He reported this in Telegram.

It is noted that the Global Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in the city of Bürgenstock.

Yes, Swiss President Viola Amgerd will open the Peace Summit. The official start of the event is at 14:30 Ukrainian time.

The aim of the summit is to initiate a peace process, create an atmosphere of trust and outline ideas for the next steps towards such a process.

The day before, in a comment to NikVesti, the head of the «Servant of the People» faction, David Arakhamiia, noted that this will be a founding summit aimed at preparing for further negotiations, where all interested parties, including international mediators, will be involved.

«First of all, this is still a founding summit. We expect, of course, preparations for the second one, where all parties will be involved, including the aggressor (Russia, — note), so that different solutions are already waiting there,» emphasized David Arakhamiia.

The conference will be attended by 100 delegations, including 57 heads of state and government from around the world. Russia was not invited to the summit, it itself repeatedly rejected it.

Peace Summit

Ukraine plans to hold the first inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland. There will be discussed, in particular, the Peace Formula to end the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned against other countries imposing «any formats of negotiations» with Russia on Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said that representatives of Russia may be invited to the second summit, which will not take place in Europe, where «they will be presented with this [peace] plan — in case the one who currently represents the aggressor country, will really want to end this war.»

It will be recalled that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine already has confirmation of participation in the Peace Summit from more than 80 countries, and also called on US President Joseph Biden and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to join it.

China has refused to participate in the Global Peace Summit to be held in June in Switzerland. According to them, Beijing rejected the invitation because the conditions for participation were not met — the presence of both Ukraine and Russia at the conference.

Swiss President Viola Amgerd said that 90 countries and organizations, half of which are European, have confirmed their participation in the Peace Summit regarding Ukraine.
