The State Geological Survey «on a phone call» extended the permit for extracting drinking water for the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant until March

The State Geology and Subsoil Service of Ukraine has postponed until March 2024 the decision to suspend the special permit of the «Mykolaiv Alumina Plant» for the use of subsoil, namely for the extraction of artesian water from the Halytsynivka deposit.

The corresponding order No. 581 of November 15, 2023 «On the suspension of the special permit for the use of subsoil» signed by the first deputy head of the SGSSU Volodymyr Buchka, which was published on Friday, November 17, writes NikVesti.

«To postpone the date of termination of the special subsoil use permit No. 5220 dated 11/17/2010, granted to the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant Limited Liability Company, established by the order of the State Geodesy of 10/18/2023 No. 534, to 03/01/2024,» — the document states.

Earlier, NikVesti reported that back in October, the State Geological Survey decided to revoke the permit for the extraction of artesian water from MAP from December 1.

As it turned out, on November 15, the day after the publication in the media, the State Service «on a phone call» suspended the decision and extended the validity of the special permit until March 1, 2024. Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolayiv RMA, also told about this.

— This special permit was suspended due to the fact that the MAP was Russian, it was transferred to the state, that is, its work was suspended. But as for water, let's say this now, this company, although Russian, due to certain decisions provided water to Mykolaiv. The decision that stops the water supply, thanks to the State Geological Survey and Roman Opimakha, they canceled their decision with a phone call, this problem is no longer there. It is resolved. There was a question, we solved it in a day. There will be water, and this 20% of water supply will be available, — said Vitalii Kim.

It will be recalled that in 2023 a decision was made to nationalize the Mykolaiv alumina plant, which belonged to the Russian oligarch Oleg Derypaska.
