Denise Brown, the coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine, shared that their team is trying to keep up with the «very fast» pace of the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Office Vitalii Kim in matters of assistance to the region.
Denise Brown, who will complete her two-year mission in Ukraine in August, said this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
«Recently I was in Mykolaiv. I want to say that we cooperate very closely with the head of RMA Vitalii Kim, who has a very clear vision. The front line moved back in November 2022. Therefore, Mykolaiv has more opportunities to support various efforts than for humanitarian aid,» Denise Brown said.
According to her, the team is trying to make efforts to restore schools and infrastructure in the region.
«We are trying to accompany RMA Chairman Kim in his vision. He moves very fast, we try to keep up. He always tells me, «You guys are too slow.» But we are making efforts there to restore schools and infrastructure. We will soon launch a support program for agricultural demining. Therefore, we provide such support to those farmers who cannot use their fields because they are mined, as we do in Kharkiv,» said Denise Brown.
We will remind you that the Regional Development Agency of the Mykolaiv Region received two grants from the UN in the amount of 100,000 dollars in three months of work to teach the communities of the region to write applications for international donors.
