The Bureau of Economic Security completed the investigation of Kolomoiskyi's case: the oligarch is accused of financial fraud

The Bureau of Economic Security (BES) completed the pre-trial investigation in the case of Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
This was reported by the BES press service.
Ihor Kolomoiskyi is charged with violations under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation concerns illegal transactions with bank documents, when the suspect actually did not deposit 5.8 billion hryvnias into the bank's cash register and took possession of more than 5.3 billion hryvnias, which were later legalized.
«Part of the money unjustifiably credited to the personal accounts of the oligarch was formed at the expense of the credit funds of the controlled bank. In particular, it is more than 2 billion hryvnias,» the BES press service noted.
The law enforcement officers also added that during the investigation, it was proven that Kolomoiskyi organized the embezzlement of over 3.3 billion hryvnias from Ukrnafta and companies that concluded agreements on joint investment activities.
«In particular, during the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the suspect organized the seizure of the funds of the joint-stock company by concluding fictitious contracts for works that were not actually performed. Later, the suspect legalized more than 4 billion hryvnias obtained illegally,» the message reads.
The case of Ihor Kolomoiskyi
We will remind, on the morning of September 2, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security and the Prosecutor General's Office handed oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi a charge under Articles 190 and 209 of the Criminal Code: fraud and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by crime.
At the beginning of the year, Ihor Kolomoiskyi was searched. The security service said that as a result of the searches, it uncovered large-scale embezzlement schemes of 40 billion hryvnias at the companies Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta. As a result, the top management of the second company received suspicions.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv chose oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of almost 510 million hryvnias. At the same time, 1+1 journalists wanted to bail him out.
On September 7, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed businessman Ihor Kolomoiskyi about one more suspicion — that he had seized 9.2 billion hryvnias from PrivatBank.
On October 26, it became known that Ihor Kolomoiskyi, who is currently in a pre-trial detention center, decided to transfer the corporate rights in the «1+1 media» holding to the management of the labor team represented by the current general director of the company, Yaroslav Pakholchuk.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv remanded businessman Ihor Kolomoiskyi in custody for another two months, until April 25. However, he reduced the amount of the pledge by 150 million hryvnias — to 2.4 billion hryvnias.
