15 people were sentenced for cooperation with the Russians in the Mykolaiv region this year

Since the beginning of the year, 15 people have been convicted in the Mykolayiv region for collaborating with the Russians.

Denys Falchenko, the first acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, announced this during the session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 2,639 criminal offenses have been registered under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). In 2024, the law enforcement officers notified 5 people of suspicion, sent 3 indictments to the court.

He also noted that this year, 29 indictments against 30 people for crimes against national security were sent to court. Courts passed 15 guilty verdicts.

«In particular, the man was sentenced to 6 years in prison with confiscation of property and a ban on holding office under Part 5, Article 111-1. During the occupation of Snigurivka, he voluntarily took the position of the head of the records department in the «Military-Civil Administration,» added Denys Falchenko.

It will be recalled that earlier the court found guilty 48-year-old Olha Zakharova from the town of Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region, who during the occupation voluntarily switched to the side of the Russian authorities and became the deputy director of an illegally established local school.

We will also remind you that in Kherson, a local resident who worked in an illegally established law enforcement agency was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
