In a massive morning attack, Russian forces fired 93 missiles into Ukraine. The Russians struck with cruise and ballistic missiles. There was also at least one North Korean missile.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The military managed to shoot down 81 missiles, 11 of which were cruise missiles shot down by F-16s. The Russians also used almost 200 drones in this attack. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this was one of the most large-scale attacks on our energy sector.
«This is Putin's 'peaceful' plan — to destroy everything. This is how he wants 'negotiations' — terrorizing millions of people. And he is not limited either in range or in purchasing the necessary components for the production of missiles. Oil gives Putin enough money to believe in impunity,» the president wrote on Telegram.
The president also emphasized that a strong reaction from the world is needed: «A massive strike requires a massive reaction. This is the only way to stop terror,» he added.
He emphasized that if leaders are afraid to react or get used to terror, Putin takes it as permission to continue. That's why we need the Patriots to shoot down these missiles and prove that terror will not achieve its goal.
Shelling of the energy sector on December 13
In the morning, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian energy. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reported that energy workers are taking all necessary measures to minimize negative consequences for the energy system.
After that, Ukrenergo reported that there would be more power outages due to the missile attack on energy facilities.
In Mykolaiv Oblast, the number of outage queues under hourly outage schedules has also been increased. In his Telegram channel, the head of the Mykolaiv Oblast Electricity Board, Vitalii Kim, added that additional schedules are being introduced throughout Ukraine due to distribution restrictions in the power system, and not as a result of shelling.
