The head of the Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the maintenance of the Russian-Ukrainian war is costing the Kremlin huge amounts of money.

In an interview with «Ukrinform», he said that Russia spends almost a billion dollars a day on the war.

«This is a very expensive war in general. A day of war costs a little less than a billion for them, which is a huge amount of money. As for the human potential, again, we should not deceive ourselves, the potential, the mobilisation resource of the Russian Federation will calculatedly allow them to move on,» said Kyrylo Budanov.

Budanov noted that the economic problems in Russia are already noticeable.

«Even according to official figures, 41% of the budget is for defence. These are abnormal figures, and almost all social programmes, medical, educational, etc., have been curtailed to meet this budget.
