During the temporary occupation, the children were forced to study according to the Russian curriculum, participate in propaganda activities, and some of them were subjected to pressure from armed FSS representatives or were held in the so-called «re-education camps».

All children are now safe and receive the necessary support. Since the beginning of 2024, 67 children have already been evacuated from the temporarily occupied communities of Kherson region.

The return of the children became possible thanks to the efforts of Save Ukraine as part of the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy «Bring Kids Back UA».

Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, more than 19,500 cases of forced deportation of children to Russia, Belarus and the temporarily occupied territories have been identified.
