In Ukraine, electricity consumption traditionally increases in the summer. This year, this growth should be offset by renewable sources.

Ruslan Slobodian, the head of the State Energy Inspection, said this on the air of the telethon.

According to him, the increase in electricity consumption is possible by 20-30%.

«We expect that, in general, these daytime peaks will be covered by the increase in electricity production from renewable sources, primarily solar power plants,» Ruslan Slobodian noted.

According to him, the growth of production at solar power plants is already happening now.

«Therefore, we do not expect any critical situation. Yes, the issue of frugal consumption will remain relevant,» he said.

We will remind that the Latvian state energy company Latvenergo handed Ukraine equipment for the restoration of the energy system.
