In an interview with Latin American media, Olena Zelenska said that the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children already includes 37 countries, Argentina recently joined it.
First Lady Olena Zelenska told about this in an interview with journalists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, El Salvador and Chile, reports the press service of the Office of the President.
The President's wife emphasized that Russia continues to hide the data and whereabouts of Ukrainian children. Neither Ukrainian authorities nor international organizations have access to them.
«We can oppose Russian arbitrariness towards defenseless children only by the joint efforts of all free countries. It is encouraging that the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children is constantly growing. It is important that all countries of the world understand as soon as possible: the rights and protection of Ukrainian children are about the rights and protection of their children as well,» she noted.
Olena Zelenska added that currently 37 countries are part of the coalition. Argentina joined it the other day.
During the interview, the first lady also talked about the work on the implementation of the All-Ukrainian mental health program «How are you?» and activities of the Elena Zelenska Foundation.
We will remind, as noted by Dmytro Lubinets, among the members of the Coalition: Canada, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Austria, Estonia, the Netherlands, Norway and others. All countries are making joint efforts to reunite Ukrainian children with their families and ensure their reintegration into families and communities.
It will be recalled that the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Robert Zile, stated that the Russification that took place during the Soviet era was not as terrible as the one carried out by the Russian and Belarusian regimes today, forcibly taking children from Ukrainian families and destroying their roots.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution calling on European politicians to make every effort to return Ukrainian children deported to Russia, as well as to help all children who are victims of this war.
