₴6 million will be allocated from the budget of Mykolaiv for sportsmen's scholarships and ₴1 million for «Niko-Basket»

The draft budget of Mykolaiv for 2025 proposes to allocate 9.2 million hryvnias for financial support of sports public organizations and scholarships for athletes.

Relevant data are contained in the Budget Materials and Proposals of the Mykolaiv City Council's Sports Department regarding the 2025 budget, published on the city council's official website, NikVesti writes.

The materials for the draft city budget state that 9 million 252 thousand 800 hryvnias will be allocated under the budget program «Support of high-achieving sports and organizations that carry out physical culture and sports activities in the region.

According to the Proposals submitted by the Sports Department to the draft budget, these funds are planned to be distributed as follows:

  • The mayor's scholarship to the city's best athletes — 6 million hryvnias;
  • One-time awards to prize winners and finalists of the city and coaches — 1 million hryvnias;
  • Non-governmental organization «Mykolaiv city physical culture and health club for the disabled «Viktoriia» for labor payment with accruals, utility payments, rent of premises, telecommunication services, operating expenses — 1 million 250 thousand 800 hryvnias;
  • NGO «Municipal basketball club «Niko-Basket» for food, accommodation and transportation of athletes, starting deposit and equipment of the team — 1 million hryvnias.

We will remind, «Niko-Basket» withdrew from the Cup of Ukraine due to lack of funds. It should be noted that the president of the club is Mykolaiv businessman and city council member Andrii Turitsa. The founder and head coach of the club is Valentyn Berestnev.

It was previously reported that the 2025 budget plans to provide 19 million 92 thousand hryvnias for the maintenance of the Central City Stadium in Mykolaiv.
