United Nations Office for Project Services

UNOPS, the United Nations Office for Project Services, carries out reconstruction projects in Mykolaiv Oblast funded by the government of Denmark. The best known is the restoration of the Arkas Lyceum, destroyed by a missile strike: an underground passage was uncovered during the works, and facade restoration began in 2026. UNOPS is also repairing apartment blocks and yards in the Lisky neighbourhood, building a shelter for Lyceum №61 in Varvarivka and replacing water towers in villages of the region.

As of March 2026, UNOPS had held over 70 tenders worth $35 million for Mykolaiv Oblast. On the night of 10 October 2026, its office was damaged in a Russian attack on central Mykolaiv.
