Vovchansk is a city in Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine, located on the Vovcha River, 5 km from the Russian border. Founded in 1674 as a Cossack settlement, it gained the status of a district town in 1780.

As of 2022, Vovchansk had a population of approximately 17,500. The city has developed industries, including the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, specializing in the production of aviation components.

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Vovchansk was occupied on February 24 but was liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on September 12 of the same year. Post-deoccupation, the city suffered significant destruction and shelling, leading to a decrease in population and damage to infrastructure.
