Terrorist Act is a criminal offense defined in Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A terrorist act involves violence, explosions, arson, or other actions that endanger lives or health, cause significant material damage, or lead to other grave consequences. The goal of such actions is to intimidate the population, provoke international conflict, or pressure government authorities.
Forms of Terrorist Acts under CCU:
Execution of a terrorist act — direct perpetration of terrorist activities.
Threat of a terrorist act — actions or messages aimed at creating fear without actual execution.
Financing terrorism — providing resources for organizing and committing terrorist acts.
Punishment for a Terrorist Act:
Depending on the severity of the consequences, punishment ranges from 5 to 15 years of imprisonment, and for actions causing deaths or other severe consequences, life imprisonment may be imposed.
