Russian hackers from the Solntsepek group claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on the Kyivstar mobile operator. The Security Service of Ukraine stated that these hackers work in a division of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU).

The company of the Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar denied the destruction of servers, which the Russians claim. They also said that personal data of subscribers is safe.
