A charity boxing evening will be held in Kyiv: funds will be collected for the restoration of a sports school in Mykolaiv

On Saturday, January 20, Ukraine will host the first boxing championship fight in more than two years. This sports event is also of a charitable nature, as its purpose is to raise funds for the reconstruction of ORSS No.2 for children and youth in Mykolaiv.

At 16:00 at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv, Ukrainian boxer Aram Faniian will compete for the title of WBF champion in the first welterweight with Mexican Francisco Mercado.

The Mykolaiv Sports Federation supports the event and cooperates with the organizers with the goal of raising 5 million hryvnias for the restoration of the Mykolaiv sports school, which was damaged by Russian shelling at the beginning of the full-scale war.

As the Sportarena publication reported, such an initiative was supported by famous Ukrainian boxers, in particular, a pupil of the Mykolaiv sports school, one of the strongest Ukrainian boxers, a native of Mykolaiv Serhii Derevianchenko.

«Sport gave me a lot. Especially the time when I practiced boxing at the children's sports school in Mykolaiv. Currently, this school has been destroyed by an enemy Russian missile. We are raising funds to rebuild the school and the shelter. I ask everyone who has the opportunity to join,» he said.

Two former world champions, Yurii Nuzhnenko, a former WBA title holder, and Oleksandr Hvozdyk, who previously held the WBC belt, also supported Serhii Derevianchenko.

On January 20, during the evening of boxing, a charity auction will be held in Kyiv, the proceeds will go to the restoration of the sports school in Mykolaiv, which was destroyed as a result of shelling by the Russian army. Together we are a force,» said Oleksandr Hvozdyk.

«Would you like to help us raise funds for the restoration of ORSS No.2 in Mykolaiv? Just scan this code!» the organizers of the charity boxing night wrote on their Instagram page.

In addition, during the charity evening of boxing, the organizers will collect funds for the paramilitary unit of the patrol police named after Nestor Makhno and the shock company of the BPAK «Boyovi Khrushchi». For this purpose, a charity auction will be held, where military and boxing-themed lots will be offered. Including an exclusive boxing jewelry made of white gold and diamonds, made by the famous Ukrainian jeweler Viacheslav Bulkovskyi.

Also, in addition to the main fight, 6 professional pairs of star boxers will compete at the charity boxing evening, including Nazri Rahimov, Taras Bondarchuk, Oleksandr Ivkov, Vladyslav Tansiura, Ali Dagli. Famous artists: Kozak Syromakha, Svitlana Tarabarova and Olena Omarhalieva are scheduled to perform during the evening of boxing.

We will remind you that from November 24 to 26, the All-Ukrainian boxing tournament among young men, juniors and youth was held in Mykolaiv in memory of the honored coach of Ukraine Oleg Grigoryev.

Previously, Mykolaiv boxer Elmir Nabiev became the silver medalist of the Felix Stamm International Tournament in Poland. Elmir Nabiev also became the champion of Ukraine among the boxing elite.
