The Department of Housing and Communal Services proposes to lay down 30 million hryvnias for the completion of the construction waste processing station in the budget of the Mykolaiv community for 2025.

Proposals for the budget for 2025 are published on the platform of the finance department of the Mykolaiv City Council.

In a comment to NikVesti, the director of the housing and communal services department, Dmytro Bezdolnyi, noted that he is not sure whether the deputies will support this proposal, because the city has other urgent needs.

«We cannot count on a certain result, the deputies will always weigh the expediency. It is very difficult to predict whether the proposal will be accepted or not under such conditions, this year's budget is very difficult, next year will be even more difficult,» said Dmytro Bezdolnyi.

We will remind that this year 10 million hryvnias were allocated from the local budget for the arrangement of the processing station, but the utility company «ELU Avtodorig» has not yet received the funds. According to Dmytro Bezdolnyi, utility companies should receive funding by the end of November, and they plan to start processing works at the end of December this year.

The director of the housing and communal services department explained that these funds will be enough only for the first priority work to start the recycling process. However, in 2025, the station is planned to be connected to an autonomous power system and connected to other necessary communications.

«What was allocated this year will allow us to carry out priority works. But it should be taken into account that this is only a basic arrangement. The funds that we offer for next year provide for the installation of all communications — gas, electricity, installation of an autonomous power plant, which are necessary for the full operation of the station,» added Dmytro Bezdolnyi.

He does not rule out that if the department's proposal is rejected, the project will have to be «frozen». If the deputies support the allocation of 30 million hryvnias, these funds, according to Bezdolnyi, will not cover all the works planned for the project. An asphalt plant is also planned to be built near the processing plant, but there is no funding for this yet.

«Let's put it this way, it will not cover everything that is planned there in the future, including the construction of an asphalt plant. An asphalt plant is planned on this very site, next to the processing station, so that the city has its own asphalt and to reduce its cost price. But it is the waste processing station that will be able to work without interruption,» concluded Dmytro Bezdolnyi.

We will remind that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Mykolaiv has accumulated about 120,000 tons of construction debris. According to preliminary estimates, it will take at least three years to completely dispose of this volume.
