This was discussed at a meeting of the city council's planning and budget commission on 26 December, according to NikVesti.
In 2025, the company spent only 100,000 hryvnias on such incidents. However, seven such incidents occurred during the year, so the figure was significantly increased the following year.
«We are talking about compensation in cases of falling branches and damage to vehicles. We plan to spend 1.3 million hryvnias for these purposes. For comparison, in 2025, 100,000 hryvnias was allocated for this, but we have already had seven such cases, so the amount has been increased,» said Dmytro Chuchmai, director of the enterprise «Parks».
This budget item is part of the company 's total needs for 2026 of 164,325,000 hryvnias, which includes salaries, utilities, maintenance of parks, squares and bus stops.
As you know, in December 2025, a branch fell on people on Soborna Street in Mykolaiv. The incident was recorded by surveillance cameras.
As a reminder, the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council has adopted a new procedure for removing trees, bushes and other green spaces in the city. Now residents must apply directly to the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» with applications for tree removal.
