On August 14, special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine captured 102 soldiers of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region.

This was reported by the Ukrainian unified center for receiving applications for surrender «I want to live», writes Suspilne.

It is noted that this is the largest capture of the enemy, which was carried out at one time. 102 soldiers of the 488th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Armed Forces of Russia and the Akhmat Special Forces were captured.

The special operation in the Kursk region was carried out by soldiers of the Special Operations Center «A» of the Security Service of Ukraine.

«They captured and cleared the sprawling, concreted and well-fortified company stronghold from all sides — with underground communications and personnel accommodation, a canteen, an armory and even a bathhouse. The enemy was not going to surrender, there were more than enough provisions and ammunition,» the message reads.

The project of the Coordinating Staff on the Treatment of Prisoners of War «I want to live» noted that the decision of the Russians to surrender is understandable, because the leadership has many shortcomings:

«And thanks to General Lapin, who is helping us to successfully advance in the Kursk region, just as in 2022 in the Kharkiv region, for whose defense he was responsible,» the headquarters wrote.

What is happening in the Kursk region

The Russian side claims that on August 6, the Ukrainian military allegedly tried to break through the border and gain a foothold in the Sudzhanskyi and Korenievskyi districts of the Kursk region. According to the information of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, approximately 300 Ukrainian soldiers on 11 tanks and 20 armored vehicles allegedly attempted to break through.

According to local media reports, six Russian servicemen were captured by the Armed Forces, and the Russian Telegram channel «VChK-OGPU» claims that the Chechen special forces «Akhmat» stationed on the border have left their positions, and 15 soldiers were injured.

Russian soldiers report that Ukrainian forces have already occupied several settlements in the Kursk region, and the city of Suja has actually been evacuated. At the same time, the UN Secretary General does not have any information about the events in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation: «We do not have representatives in this area.»

And on August 14, Ukrainian journalists visited the Russian city of Sudzha in the Kursk Region for the first time. She talked with local residents and showed how our fighters distributed humanitarian aid.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that as of August 14, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed the enemy in the city of Sudzha, Kursk Region of the Russian Federation. More than 100 soldiers of the Russian Federation were taken prisoner, the defense operation continues.
